Matt Kadane is the author of The Enlightenment and Original Sin (Chicago, 2024), The Watchful Clothier (Yale, 2013), and articles and essays that have appeared in The American Historical Review, Past and Present, and other journals and edited books. His research has been supported by the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, a yearlong Mellon fellowship at the Huntington Library in California, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. He is currently Professor of History at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY.
