We Are Home cover

This research study focuses on the lives of TPS workers in New York State. The overall findings in this study reveal a community with a positive view of their own sense of belonging; they feel NY and the US is their home. As Chebel d’Appollonia (2015) explains, positive self-perceptions and self-identification, as well as a sense of positive self-mobility, lead to high levels of social bonding, organizational membership, and attachment to a common American identity. The findings on this targeted study of TPS workers in New York State concur with the findings of Campos-Medina (2019) seminal study on Bounded Integration: TPS workers in this sample expressed a sense of accomplishment in their personal lives and a high sense of adherence to American norms and values. In their own words, NY and the US is their home.
