Natalia Correa Sánchez is a PhD student in Development Studies at Cornell University. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, she holds a law degree and master’s degrees in Public Policy and Sociology from Universidad de Los Andes. Her research examines the spatial and temporal dimensions of shifting access to forest land and natural resources in Colombia, with a focus on the interactions between legal frameworks, conservation initiatives, and rural livelihoods. Prior to her doctoral studies, Natalia worked at the intersection of research and public policy, specializing in rural land access and governance. She has served as a public official, academic researcher, consultant, and advisor to multilateral organizations. Her public sector experience includes key roles at Colombia’s National Land Agency and the Constitutional Court, where she contributed to major legal and policy reforms on land rights.
