The Judith Reppy Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies is directed by a member of the steering committee who serves a three-year term. The current director is:

Rebecca Slayton, Associate Professor, Department of Science & Technology Studies.

William Nelson Cromwell Professor of International and Comparative Law

Muna Ndulo, William Nelson Cromwell Professor of International and Comparative Law, is an internationally recognized scholar in the fields of constitution making, governance and institution building, international criminal law, African legal systems, and human rights.

Saomai Phuong Nguyen (they/she) is a PhD student in the Department of History, focusing on Asian/American history.

Agnieszka Nimark has been a long-term visiting scholar at PACS since 2014. She is also a non-resident associate senior researcher in Global Geopolitics and Security at Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB) in Spain.

Danielle Obisie-Orlu is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Government, specializing in international relations with an interdisciplinary minor in international law, migration, and sustainable development.

Mursal Rahim is a MPA student in the Jeb E. Brooks School of Public Policy, concentrating on human rights and social justice. Holding a Bachelor of Law from Afghanistan, she has extensive experience in legal, educational, and refugee community support roles. 

Prize for Best Essay in Technology and International Security Policy Winner 2024-25

Brett Reichert is a U.S. Army Goodpaster Fellow and PhD student in Public Policy at Cornell University. His research examines how emerging military technology affects conflict dynamics and the use of force.

Professor Emerita, Science and Technology

Judith Reppy is professor emerita in science and technology studies. On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the Peace Studies Program was renamed to honor her long-term service and commitment to the program.
