Visiting Scholars
The South Asia Program is pleased to invite South Asia area scholars from a wide array of disciplines to affiliate with SAP as a Visiting Scholar, via this online form. All Visiting Scholars are required to have a Cornell faculty member as a sponsor.
Scholars can be based in the US or elsewhere and come to Ithaca either during the academic year or in the summer. In accordance with current university procedures, a formal appointment as a Visiting Scholar can be made for one year at a time. International scholars must meet all J-1 visa and financial requirements. SAP Visiting Scholars are able to conduct research at the Cornell University Library, including the Kroch Library Asia Collections, as well as contribute to SAP seminars, conferences, symposia, workshops, and outreach activities.
Applications to be a SAP Visiting Scholar are accepted on a rolling basis, but should be submitted well in advance of the proposed start of residency. Questions about the process should be made via email to sap@cornell.edu.
