Global Research Fellows

Application Deadline: September 28

We invite you to join Einaudi's new interdisciplinary research and professional development community for advanced graduate students, Cornell postdocs, and visiting and local scholars.

As an Einaudi Center Global Research Fellow, you’ll network with a diverse group of colleagues and work together to grapple with pressing global challenges. Join us and share your unique skills and global perspective. You'll find a vibrant community of fellow researchers with regional and international interests and a desire to foster a more equitable world.

Research Focus

Over the course of the academic year, you'll have the opportunity to develop and present a major work-in-progress of your choice. You'll participate in four research development seminars, regular peer discussion groups, and mentoring sessions with international thought leaders.

Yidan Wang, PhD student in Comparative Literature, conducted fieldwork at zoos in Japan, Taiwan, and China.
Comparative literature PhD student Yidan Wang used Einaudi summer funding to conduct fieldwork at zoos in East Asia.

The fellowship is designed for researchers who seek to explore these vital questions:

  • What do we owe one another as global citizens?
  • How can historical injustices be meaningfully addressed?
  • What role can scholars play in envisioning and enacting a more just and thriving future?

All participants must be working on a research project on global issues pertinent to just and sustainable change. Examples include a dissertation chapter, research or grant proposal, annotated bibliography, lecture, conference presentation, course curriculum, or scholarly articles. The research setting may be international or domestic, and the work may focus on an international, transnational, intercultural, or regional issue.

Mentors and Networking

As a Global Research Fellow, you'll meet and engage with prominent experts and leaders visiting the Einaudi Center, including this year's speakers at the Lund Critical Debate and Bartels World Affairs Lecture. You'll attend participatory workshops led by our Einaudi Center practitioner in residence Paul Kaiser and hear from faculty representing a range of international studies approaches.
